What is PourCost?
A bar manager's pocket co-pilot for costing drinks, watching margins, and turning invoices into inventory.
Updated May 6, 2026
PourCost is a cocktail costing app for bartenders and bar managers. You enter what you buy, what you pour, and what you sell it for. PourCost does the math, flags the drinks that bleed money, and keeps everything in sync across your phone, tablet, and the web.
Who it's built for
Solo bartenders dialing in their own menu, GMs running a cocktail program, and operators with a few locations who are tired of spreadsheet roulette every time a price goes up.
The three things it does well
- Bar Inventory. Every bottle, beer, wine, and prepped ingredient with a real cost per ounce. Catalog-backed so you don't type out brand sheets by hand.
- Cocktails. Build a recipe, see live pour cost and margin, get a suggested menu price that hits your target tier.
- Invoices. Snap a photo of a distributor invoice. We read the line items, match them to your inventory, and update your costs in one tap.
What it isn't
- Not a POS. We don't ring sales.
- Not full inventory counting yet. Variance, par-levels, and depletion forecasting are on the roadmap.
- Not a recipe-publishing platform. Your data is yours.
New to bar finance?
Skim the Concepts section first. Pour cost, margin, and tier targets show up on every screen. Five minutes of vocabulary saves an hour of poking around.
What's next
Read the onboarding walkthrough, then build your first cocktail. The rest of the help center is organized by the tab it lives under in the app.
Common first steps
- Set your default pour sizes per ingredient type.
- Add 5 to 10 well spirits using the catalog.
- Build one classic cocktail and watch the meter.
