Tiers (Pro Mode)
The default tier ladder works for most concepts. Pro mode lets you reshape it for yours.
Updated May 6, 2026
The default ladder (10% wells, 18% call, 22% premium, 25% top shelf, 30% allocated) was sanity-checked against Denver bar program norms. Pro mode lets you customize it.
When to customize
- High-volume neighborhood spot: tighten the well bracket and run it at 8%.
- Craft cocktail destination: widen the premium bracket up to $100 and pull the target down to 20%.
- Hotel bar with a captive audience: every tier sits 2 to 4 points cooler than industry norms.
How to edit
- Open Settings → Tiers and toggle Pro Mode on.
- Edit each tier's bottle-cost bounds and target percentage.
- Save. PourCost validates before applying.
Validation rules
- At least one tier.
- First tier starts at $0.
- Top tier is unbounded (no max).
- No gaps and no overlaps between adjacent tiers.
- Each target percentage between 1 and 100.
Heads up
Custom tiers reshape every spirit's target instantly. Pour cost colors on every screen will shift with the change. Worth saving a screenshot of your default state before you start tweaking.
